Chase was voted in as the starter at second base for the NL in the 2008 All-Star game. Chase led the NL with 3,889,602 votes, coming in second to Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees. He currently leads the majors with 24 home runs. This is the third time Chase has been named an All-Star. He said, “It’s kind of surreal. The fans around the country have supported me, so it’s greatly appreciated, it’s an unbelievable honor, and I’m excited.”
This will be the last All-Star game to take place at the stadium in the Bronx because the Yankees are opening a new stadium next season.
