Question: Who is your least favorite pitcher to face?
- Arch D., Philadelphia
Answer: Dontrelle Willis, I had a tough time with. And I’m really sorry to see that he’s in the American League.
Q: You have a reputation for being cool under pressure. What really goes through you mind in a clutch situation? Is it all business or do you think about what’s on the line?
- Bob S., Downingtown, Pa.
A: To be honest with you, it’s all business. You’re trying to succeed every at-bat. Whether it’s an important at-bat, or not an important at-bat. So you try to keep the same all the time, so it doesn’t make a difference.
Q: How do you plan your off-season?
- Kurt H., Hot Springs, Ark.
A: I usually take a month off after the season is over. I kind of relax. Let my body rest. But come mid-November, I’m hitting the gym and getting ready for this year.
Q: Is it your turn to be this year’s MVP?
- Greg M., Ringwood, N.J.
A: My goal this year is to improve upon last year. That’s my goal every year and that’s not going to change.
Q: How do you deal with the lack of [the West Coast-based] In-N-Out Burgers out east? When you’re home how often do you visit? And what do you order off the secret menu?
- Keith J., New York, N.Y.
A: At In-N-Out, I’m “double-double, animal style” [on the secret menu]. I’m a little disappointed there aren’t any/more In-N-Outs on the East Coast. That’s probably a good thing, because I might hit them up a little too much. So when I get to the West Coast, [I visit In-N-Out] twice.
Q: There are two cages over a pit of lava and both are descending. In one cage, there are blueprints for revolutionary emissions-free technology. In the other is Shane Victorino. You can only save one. Which one do you save?
- Greg G., Washington, DC.
A: OK … I’m going to have to save my centerfielder. I’m saving my centerfielder, yes. I have his back. Hopefully, he’d do the same for me.
Q: We know you and your wife are involved in SPCA. What kind of pets do you own?
- Dave V.
A: We have two cats that we’ve had for a few years. I would love a dog, but with our travel schedule, we’re not around enough to take care of it the proper way. But one day, maybe, we’ll grab a dog.
Q: What is your favorite Philly restaurant?
- Dan C., Philadelphia.
A: I have a lot, but I’m a big sushi fan, so Morimoto’s is a good spot to go.
Q: Are you a Led Zeppelin fan or did you just pick “Kashmir” as your intro music because you like it?
- Keith K., Liverpool, N.Y.
A: No, I like a few of their songs, but “Kashmir” is just a good, intense song.
Q: What concert or event would you skip curfew for the night before an afternoon game?
- Jordan E., Phoenix.
A: There would probably be a few. Jimmy [Rollins] would like this one: I grew up in Long Beach and I was a big Snoop Dogg fan growing up, so getting to see him perform in person would be fun.

What is the greatest benefit of htiting in a lineup with players like Ryan Howard and Jimmy Rollins?
Anthony | on 29/3/08
Nice round of questions.
Norma | on 28/3/08
I’ve gotten tics for 14 games so far. Including Opening Day and Opening Night! Hope to get a couple of more games. Getting tics this year has been horrible. Everybody jumped on the band wagon after last year. I even had to go to StubHub to get tics for several games.
michelle | on 28/3/08
Laura, i’m going to 4 games so far. opening day, mothers day (giants. i need to see aaron rowand again lol other than chase he was my favorite lol) um july 13 (shane victorino hawaiian day) and aug. 26 (mets) and im going to be getting more probably =)

Norma,,, Yeah i wore green!! Anyone going to any regular season games?
Norma | on 26/3/08
Laura….I was at the Thurs., 3/20 game and the Sat., 3/21 game. The Saturday game was televised, but like I said, called for rain in the 4th.
I’m sooooo jealous you were at the St. Pat’s game! Did you wear green? LOL! We’ll probably go again next year. And if we do, we’ve already decided to be there on March 17th! LOL!
michelle & ang…....In spite of Chase’s lack of hitting. And the rain. We ahd a BALL! No pun intended! LOL! And the Phils did win the Thurs. game, 3-0. On 3 HR’s. Two of them back to back! That was pretty awesome. I know Ryan hit one HR. Just don’t ask me who hit the back to back’s! LOL!
michelle | on 26/3/08

Forgot to ask this,,,, Norma which games did you go to?
Laura | on 25/3/08
I got back from Clearwater on Wednesday {19th]! i went to the game on Friday the 14th and Monday the 17th! Chase hit a triple in the 1 st inning on Monday!
Norma | on 24/3/08
Got back from Clearwater last night!
Unfortunately, our boy didn’t do well at the games I was at. No hits at all and a couple of strike-outs. Our 2nd game, was called in the 4th inning due to rain. Bummer! But all in all, it was a great experience. And LOTS of fun! Who wouldn’t want to be in Fla.?! LOL!
Wish I had been at the game on Sun. afternoon when we won 15-7 and Chase hit a HR!
Norma | on 24/3/08
preston,.........Chase won’t see your questions here. You have to go to the Q&A section on the right-hand side of the Home Page.
But I do happen to know that Chase pretty much lived at the batting cages when he was your age. I think he was known as a “cage rat”. The owners of the batting cages even gave him a job, he was there so much.
I forget which one, but if you have a copy of either the ’05 or ’06 Phillies video yearbook, they have a whole segment on Chase. And in part of it, they show him going back to his old batting cages.
preston price | on 23/3/08
when you were in junior high and throughout highschool, what kind of drills did you perform to improve your game? Did you have acces to a batting cage and if so, how often did you hit? i habe a dream to one day make it to the bigs like you one day and i would really appreciate it if you gave me some tips
thanks,
preston
Norma | on 19/3/08

Norma | on 6/3/08
OK! HERE I GO AGAIN!!!
ANYONE WHO WANTS TO ASK CHASE A QUESTION HAS TO GO TO THE “Q&A” LINK OF THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE HOME PAGE.
CHASE WILL NOT SEE YOUR QUESTIONS HERE!!!!!
Madison | on 6/3/08

CHASE!!!
GOOD LUCK W/ YOUR AMAZING SEESON COMING UP!!!
John Tompkins | on 5/3/08
How many home runs do you think you will hit this season?
Good luck!!!!!!
Norma | on 4/3/08
It’s such a bummer!
I’m pretty spoiled. My friends and I have always been able to get pretty decent infield seats, with no trouble at all. We have gotten tickets for about 6 games so far, but we’re either in the corners of the infield, or 200 level.
My Opening Day seats are in the 300 level by the foul pole! But at least I’m going to Opening Day!!!! Sorry everybody. Don’t mean to rub it in. LOL!
Lizzy | on 4/3/08
Norma
what i would do is write chase a letter , find his address and send it to him
that is wat i did about two weeks ago
Lizzy Buckham | on 4/3/08
i wonder where chase met jen
and how long that they have been going out b4 he poped the question
michelle | on 4/3/08
i just got tickets to a Mets game…there really high up but still, it’s fun being there for the excitement and rivalry between Philly and New York. and me too…i’m having alot of trouble getting tickets. so far i’m going to 3 games and I want to get tickets for Sep. 28 (the last game) cause its 2 days before my birthday. and Norma…I TOTALLY agree with you. everyone jumped on the band wagon this year because they made the playoffs..not me…i’ve been a phillies fan my entire life! (literally! theres pictures of me in phillies hats from the time i was a baby! LOL!) =)
Sydney L. | on 4/3/08
Tickets are really hard to get this year! espically good ones! i think it’s because of them being in the play offs last year. and the mets games are unbelieveable to get tickets that are actually good!
Norma | on 3/3/08
LOL!!! Thanks, michelle! I was beginning to become a little redundent!
Anyone else having a horrible time getting tickets???? My friends and I usually order about 12 games early in the season. We’re NOT getting our usual 3rd baseline seats coming up. We have gotten tickets for a few games, but usually 2nd level. AND the Mets games are SRO!!!!! Fan Appreciation Day was SRO for a while, but I just checked and 300 level is coming up.
Better seats are usually released at the start of the season. But who knows what’s going to happen, since everyone has jumped on the Band Wagon this year!
michelle | on 3/3/08
okay people, you should really start listening to Norma lol. you don’t ask Chase questions here. you ask them in the Q & A section on the right hand side of the page. this part right here is to just comment the questions above from the inquirer.
John G. | on 3/3/08
Do you play golf during the baseball season? If you do what are some of your favorite courses?
