Got a Question for Chase Utley? Ask it here.
Question:
Would adding a pitcher help the Phillies make a push for the playoffs?
Answer:
The better pitching you have, the more opportunity you'll have to win games. I know our organization wants to win, and if they can find a piece that will fit into our puzzle to give us a better chance, they'll do that.
Question:
What advice did Reggie Jackson give you in regards to the HR Derby?
Answer:
He told me, If it's high, let it fly. If it's low, let it go. It seemed pretty simple. I think Josh took the advice better.
Question:
Chase, what is your most memorable moment playing as a Phillie, and how good was Fredex at baseball back in the day at UCLA?
Answer:
My most memorable would be that last pitch last year when we made the playoffs. As far as Freddie Mitchell, he chose the right sport in football, that’s for sure. He was a good batting practice hitter—that’s about it. He wasn’t quite the same once the game got going.
Question:
How do you stay focused over the course of a 162 game season, especially when you play every game? Do you have a set routine or do you take a more laid back approach?
Answer:
I do have a set routine. I try to keep everything simple. I try to get to the park around the same time, I try to keep everything the same everyday. It’s kind of like groundhog day—you play different teams, but you prepare the same way. It’s important to have a set routine.
Question:
I’m wondering, even with your busy schedule, if you have any shows that you positively can’t miss. (from Denise)
Answer:
No, I am not tv guy. All i like to watch is Sportscenter.
