Being at home and playing in front of a home crowd has really given us a lift. The crowd is more intense, and it gives you a little more adrenaline. We’ve been playing all year at Citizens Bank Park, so we’re comfortable with the scene here. I’m glad we’re here.
You can definitely feel the energy out there. It’s good, positive energy. For the opposing team, not so much. It’s an advantage for us.
Our offense came alive tonight and Jimmy Rollins is a big part of that. He’s huge. When he gets on base, he creates a lot of opportunity. He can steal a base or go first to third. He can score from first, so the more times he’s on base, the better opportunity we have to win.
Then, when Ryan begins swinging like he did tonight, he can do a lot of damage in a hurry. It was fun to watch him.
Big Joe Blanton was outstanding, too. He was pounding the strike zone and keeping them off balance a little bit and going right after the Rays hitters. Obviously, the home run he hit was big, too. It was nice to see that.
We’re in good position and we’re happy with the situation we’re in but certainly not taking anything for granted. The Rays are a very good ballclub. We’re going to treat Game 5 just like all the rest of the games of the Series.
Our goal is to prepare to win. It’s no different than any other game. It’s pretty simple, really. I don’t know how many games we’ve played this season, but this one will be just like the rest in terms of preparation.
We have confidence in Cole Hamels. He’s been pitching well all season long, so we’ll go about our business just like every other game. He’ll put his game plan together, we’ll put ours together and we’ll go out and try to execute.

Great Job all season Chase Utley. What a great ball player you are! My daughter is 10 and she plays baseball and is determined to be the first female to play for a major league team! Big dreams for sure; an impossibility really but I would never tell her that. She is actually an excellent determined little player and you of course are her role model! She could not have picked a better one! I was told they other day the only thing she wants for Christmas is for Chase Utley to get lost in our town and stop at our house to ask for directions! Anyway, just wanted to let you know what a great player you are (unbelievable defense this year) you and the rest of the team truly emboddied what a team is all about; Congratulations on a great season! PHILLIES WORLD CHAMPS!!
