Q: How does it feel to finally get to the World Series Chase?
Chase: It feels great. We’ve worked extremely hard the entire year. We’ve had some ups and some downs but we all stuck together. We’re playing our best baseball right now, so that’s important.
Q: Does having an ace like Cole Hamels give you guys extra confidence heading into the series?
Chase: It’s a big confidence boost. Cole has been pitching outstanding all year long. If we score a few runs for him theres a good chance we will win the game.
Q: How important is Jimmy Rollins to the Phillies offense? Would you say he is the key to it?
Chase: Jimmy is the guy that makes our lineup go. When he gets on base he creates a lot of havoc and makes it tough on opposing pitchers. The more he is on base, the better off we are.

Just wanted to give you congrats on the awesome career so far. I’ve followed your career since coming up in the bigs since we have the same last name, haha. You’ve easily become both mine and my own Utley families favorite player. Keep up the great work, Chase! We are rooting for you everyday.

You need to apologize for the comment you made during the rally. It wasn’t the place to speak like that, in front of all of those families and kids. Peolpe are now defending the use of the f-word in order to defend you. I’ve even seen t-shirts coming out now, with the phrase “World Ph*ckin’ Champions”. That kind of thing is going to promote using that word even more to kids. You can stop people from actually encouraging the use of the f-word with an apology. Just think about it, and I hope that you do. Thank you.

On a scale of one to ten how did the world seris rate as a point in your career?
bruce mcdermott | on 3/11/08
first let me say, this is the second happiest day in the history of my life, 1980 being the first, because it was the first championship. secondly, i want to remind you and all the phillies that you have thousands of fans in delaware who wouldn’t mind a little recognition once in awhile. and thirdly you statement was great it was so unexpected coming from you that i jumped out of me seat screaming and accidently broke things laying in the area but who cares you captured the feelings of everyone with one simple statement way to go and please never be anything other then a philly, don’t leave us faithful over money show us loyalty as we show you .

My comment is: Awesome. Just fu@%!ng AWESOME! WHOOOOHOOOO! Congratulations and a major THANK YOU from a lifelong Phillies fan. Now go, relax, and enjoy the offseason. You’ve all earned it. Have fun!

At the post-parade ceremony at CBP, you basically said what all of us fans said at bars and living rooms throughout the region. Thankfully it seems no one is really giving you a hard time about it. It was a great exclamation point to a wonderful season!

Chase Utley is a great second baseman and all star. Did you have to use that foul language with all the children present on National TV at the celebration at Citizens Park? You are supposed to be a role model. I have been a Phillies fan since the Whiz Kids, show a little class! I found it offensive as well as many of the people that I have spoken to.

i’ve made a picture up from your wallpaper on the phillies web site, and added a couple things on it. it has your famous words from your speech at the stadium. i would like to send you one, but don’t know where to send it. if i send it to the phillies will you get it. i will put att: chase utley, you’ll like. i’ve been a phillies fan all my life, i’m 52. great job getting it done. congrats. to all the phillies for winning the 2008 world series. i think you’ll like the picture. your speech could’nt have said it any better myself. thanks for the memories of the 2008 world series. many more to come.

Were you referencing a scene from Forrest Gump at the parade?
Jenise Kasian | on 29/10/08
Chase,
I would like to say congratulations on the 2008 championship. I have to say the Phillies are an amazing team. The chemistry between each of the players is remarkable. That final game was quite exciting especially the final strike out.
Good luck to you and the Phillies.

I’m sure Chase will never see this, but I thought I would let whoever reviews this know a little bit about my son, Will. Will has been an avid Chase Utley fan since we took him to see the Phillies when he was two and a half years old. For the better part of his third year he actually believed he was Chase. He would get quite frustrated when otherscalled him Will, and he would quickly clarify his name as Chase.
Will’s bedroom walls are filled with Phillie’s items, but perhaps his greatest prize his life-size poster of Chase, which doubles as a measuring stick. Will has about five Chase Utley shirts and proudly announces himself as Chase Utley every time he swings the bat while we play countless hours of baseball in our backyard.
I always hoped that I would be my son’s hero and still believe someday I will be, but in the meantime I have to say I am glad he picked Chase. Chase goes out everyday and plays hard without the need for attention or stardom. In this day and age of sports stars, I feel I and my son are lucky to be able to support Chase Utley and the Philles.

I totaly agree but when chase gets on base we also start things.
Christopher Garman | on 18/10/08
My 8 year old son idolizes you. He wants to be you when he grows up. My question is do you ever meet the kids. My son would love to meet you . Are you affiliated with any organizations that let the kids meet you and maybe get a signed baseball from you. It would be a dream come true for him and maybe for his 35 year old dad too…
Thanks
Chris Garman
